The Tree (1973-1976)

Takes these sins, O, Lord, from me,
Here I lay them at Calvary.
All my burdens suddenly flee,
Nailed forever to that tree!

God’s sweet grace, how it overflowed,
The precious blood of Jesus has lifted my load!
No more sorrow, fear or doubt,
God has given me something to sing about!

Oh, Sweet Jesus, I sing unto Thee,
Of Thy Tender mercies, Thy blessed liberty!
In Thy name, all things I may ask,
God has promised to surely bring to past!

Thank you, Dear Lord, for dying on that tree,
Your act of unfailing love has set hungry hearts free!
And, yet, never once do you ask us to repay,
The debts Your blood purchased on that dark day!
